Testing Methodology

Quick answer: CARDHAVEN TCG does not open sealed inventory for editorial testing. Our methodology focuses on verifying listing accuracy, catalog data, packaging identity, release information and storefront functionality.

What we test

Our quality checks are designed for an online trading card retailer. Depending on the product and page, we may verify title and format consistency, product imagery, variant configuration, listed release information, price display, stock status, add-to-cart behavior and checkout handoff.

Sealed-product integrity

We do not claim to physically open or test sealed products that are being sold as sealed inventory. Any discussion of contents is based on reliable product information rather than opening sale inventory.

Listing verification

We compare the storefront listing with the corresponding Shopify catalog record. Key checks can include product title, product type, image, variant, price, availability and public URL.

Release and preorder checks

For preorder and new-release products, we review the stated release timing against available authoritative information. A date may change after publication, so the live product page is updated when more reliable information becomes available.

Image checks

Images are reviewed for relevance to the exact product format. We avoid intentionally substituting a different product format, such as using an individual box image to represent a sealed case, when the distinction matters to the buyer.

Storefront checks

We periodically verify that important customer flows work as expected, including navigation, product pages, collection pages, cart behavior and Shopify checkout handoff.

Limitations

Packaging, manufacturer specifications, allocations and release schedules can change. A methodology check reflects the information available at the time of review and does not guarantee that a third party will never change its product details later.
