MTG Collector Guides · CARDHAVEN TCG
Choose the right Star Trek Play Booster, Collector Booster, Bundle, Beam Me Up Bundle or prerelease product, with publisher-confirmed contents and dates.
Who this guide is for: Star Trek buyers comparing the complete retail product lineup and preorder timing.
Release timing and exact format matter
Wizards of the Coast has announced November 13, 2026 as the global tabletop release of Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek. The prerelease period is November 6–12, 2026, and the MTG Arena release is listed for November 10. These are publisher dates, not promises that every retailer will dispatch orders on the same day. The product family is broad: Play Boosters, Collector Boosters, Bundles, the Beam Me Up Bundle, Commander decks, Scene Boxes and prerelease packs are distinct products. Publisher update: Wizards has canceled the previously announced Beginner Box; it should not be treated as an available product.
What the retail displays contain
One Play Booster Display has thirty Play Boosters. Wizards describes fourteen Magic cards and a non-foil double-sided token in each Play Booster. One Collector Booster Display has twelve Collector Boosters, each with fifteen Magic cards and a different premium treatment distribution. The word 'display' therefore does not identify a common number of packs across formats.
| Retail product | Official contents | Why select it? |
|---|---|---|
| Play Booster display | 30 Play Boosters | Draft/Sealed and general pack opening |
| Collector Booster display | 12 Collector Boosters | Premium and specialty card treatments |
| Standard Bundle | 9 Play Boosters, promo, lands, storage box | A wider set package and accessories |
| Beam Me Up Bundle | 8 Play Boosters + 1 Collector Booster, 2 promo cards, extras | A mixed opening experience |
| Prerelease Pack | 6 Play Boosters plus foil rare/mythic promo and play items | Prerelease play |
Why the Beam Me Up Bundle is special
Wizards' product guide lists eight Play Boosters, one Collector Booster, two foil spacecraft promo cards selected from eight designs, land cards, an oversized life counter and a storage box. This is a mixed bundle, not a twelve-pack Collector Booster Display. The standard Bundle has nine Play Boosters and a different promo configuration. Compare the actual components before deciding what represents good value for your collecting goals.
Do not confuse a display with a factory case
A retail Play Booster Display and a manufacturer's outer shipping case are different packaging levels. A statement that one display holds thirty boosters does not establish the number of displays in one case. Likewise, knowing there are twelve Collector Boosters in a display does not identify the contents of a master case. For cases, verify the official carton quantity, product code and sealed condition independently. A retail display UPC should not be reused as the factory case's GTIN without supporting evidence.
What collectors should check
- Full expansion name and format, including any Commander or specialty variant.
- Number of boosters in the exact item and set-specific content breakdown.
- Whether the listing is one display, an assortment of displays or an original factory-sealed case.
- Official release date versus the merchant's estimated dispatch.
- Current listing price and shipping total, which may differ from publisher MSRP.
- Condition evidence and accurate item photos for high-value sealed cases.
Frequently asked questions
Do Collector Boosters guarantee rare or expensive cards?
No. They include a different mix of slots and premium treatments, but opening outcomes remain randomized. Read the exact set-specific breakdown published by Wizards.
Can a prerelease pack be shipped on November 6?
The publisher lists prerelease events from November 6, but merchant fulfillment and delivery commitments are separate. Check the actual listing.
Does a Collector Booster Case equal a Collector Booster Display?
No. A display is one retail unit; a case is an outer packaging level containing displays or other units. Verify the exact case quantity rather than assuming it.
