Star Trek arrives November 13, 2026. Learn the confirmed 30-pack Play and 12-pack Collector Booster display formats—and what evidence a factory case or master case requires.
Who this guide is for: Star Trek buyers verifying original Collector Booster cases and master cartons.
Release timing: prerelease versus tabletop launch
Wizards of the Coast lists November 13, 2026 as the global tabletop release of Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek, with prerelease events scheduled for November 6–12. The release calendar does not prove that any specific factory case has been received or that a particular merchant can deliver on launch day. As of October 18, this is an upcoming release, and buyers should evaluate a case listing as a preorder unless the seller supplies a different documented fulfillment explanation.
What is inside one retail Star Trek display?
The publisher's Collecting Star Trek guide confirms that one Play Booster box includes 30 Play Boosters, each holding 14 Magic cards plus a non-foil double-sided token. One Collector Booster box includes 12 Collector Boosters, each holding 15 Magic cards with different foil and specialty-card slots. These are two distinct retail products—and neither fact identifies the contents of a manufacturer's shipping case.
| Listing level | Published product detail | What the seller must establish |
|---|---|---|
| Play Booster Display | 30 Play Boosters per retail box | That the SKU is for one retail display |
| Collector Booster Display | 12 Collector Boosters per retail box | That the SKU is for one retail display |
| Collector Booster Display Case | Outer unit containing retail displays | Original case count, label and sealed state |
| Collector Booster Display Master Case | A higher-level packaged item under a separate listing | Master carton composition, packing hierarchy and identifiers |
Case and master case are not just marketing labels
A seller could use “case” to mean a group of retail displays in a shipping carton, or to describe the specific original carton provided by a distributor. “Master case” might indicate an even higher packaging level. In order to make a precise purchase, ask whether these are factory-defined configurations, exactly how many displays they contain and whether a manufacturer's case label or distributor line confirms those quantities.
CARDHAVEN lists Star Trek Collector Booster Display Cases and Collector Booster Display Master Cases as separate products. The existence of separate listings does not by itself verify a factory hierarchy. The correct packaging quantities and corresponding GTINs should be supported independently. A photograph that includes six or twenty-four display boxes may illustrate the intended quantity, but only documentation for that product can confirm an original factory master case.
A publisher's display specifications cannot supply a missing case GTIN
GS1 supports separate product identification across retail and shipping levels, including Inner Packs, Cases and Mixed Cases. A standard Play Booster Display identifier is not a valid substitute for a Collector Booster Display Case identifier, and even a Collector Booster Display UPC cannot be assumed to identify the master carton. A GTIN-14 may be assigned by the responsible brand owner or its authorized system to a particular higher packaging level, but a retailer should not invent that number from an unrelated retail-unit barcode.
The buyer's documentation worksheet
- Exact title and edition: Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek Collector Booster (not Play Booster).
- Product level: individual pack, retail display, case, or master case.
- Verified display specification: 12 Collector Boosters per retail display.
- Outer carton: number of displays and, where applicable, number of cases per master carton.
- Source for quantity: manufacturer label, authorized distributor record or similarly credible documentation.
- Original packaging: closure condition, label placement, carton integrity, and any available seller photographs.
- Fulfillment: November 13 official tabletop release versus the seller's estimated warehouse dispatch.
- Identifiers: retail display barcode separately from case- or master-case GTIN; unknown codes remain unknown.
How to evaluate preorder communication
If the store permits preorder purchase ahead of November 13, make sure the product page gives a sensible date and does not describe the case as physically in stock without evidence. The expected dispatch window may begin after launch. For a high-value master-case order, it is reasonable to confirm the complete contents, original packaging and shipping protection before accepting a large financial commitment.
What makes the Collector Booster different
Wizards' official pack breakdown includes traditional foil commons and uncommons, rare or mythic slots, extended-art and Booster Fun treatments. The Star Trek theme also includes unique stardates products in the wider card program. These aspects explain why some buyers choose Collector Boosters rather than Play Boosters, but the packs remain randomized. Even an original factory case does not guarantee a particular rare card.
Frequently asked questions
Are Star Trek Collector Booster cases already released?
The official tabletop launch is November 13, 2026, which is in the future as of this guide's October 18 review. Retailer inventory and estimated dispatch must be checked separately.
Can I use a 12-pack display description for the master case?
Only for each included retail display after the outer-case composition is independently confirmed. Twelve boosters per display is not the number of displays per master carton.
Does a valid barcode prove the carton has not been opened?
No. Identification and physical packaging integrity are different checks.

Sources and verification
Publisher articles establish retail booster contents and set dates. GS1 materials establish packaging-level identification principles. Neither source automatically establishes a unique case GTIN or factory carton quantity for an individual CARDHAVEN listing.
